16, 2005: Authoring and Mentorship Workshop
Dr. Eric Cottington, Associate Vice President for Research, discussed current
principles, policies and practices regarding authorship and mentorship through
case studies from various disciplines.
February
18, 2005: Contract Issues and Administration
Rosemary Alexander, OSPA Assistant Director for Contracting, provided an
overview as well as an update of contract concerns and issues of interest
to both faculty, staff, and student researchers, as well as department and
management center administrators.
October 3, 2005: Overview of
Conflict of Interest in Research
Dr. Eric Cottington, Associate Vice President for Research, discussed financial
conflicts of interest and why this topic has been receiving increased scrutiny.
He reviewed recent guidelines from national organizations, as well as Case
policies and procedures for dealing with conflict of interest in research.
October 13, 2005: Effort Reporting (titled Nov 9, 2005 seminar because they are the same)
Dr. Eric Cottington, Associate Vice President for Research, presented an overview of effort reporting requirements as they pertain to federally sponsored research.

November 3, 2005: NIH Electronic Submission Process and Grants.gov
Dr. Eric Cottington, presented information of interest to faculty and department administrators involved in grants administration, concerning grants.gov - the federal gateway for submitting applications electronically.
November 9, 2005: Effort Reporting
Dr. Eric Cottington, Associate Vice President for Research, presented an overview of effort reporting requirements as they pertain to federally sponsored research. A repeat of the October 13th Seminar.
