3-12-08 ANNOUNCEMENT: Early Career Scientists
Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)----- Through a national competition, HHMI plans invest more than $300 million to as many as 70 early career scientists from various biological and medical scientific disciplines. Candidates must hold a tenure or tenure-track position and have at least two but no more than six years of experience since their initial appointment as an assistant professor (or equivalent position). Awardees will receive six-year, non-renewable appointments to HHMI. Scientists must indicate their intention to submit an application by April 30, 2008. The deadline for completed applications is June 10, 2008. HHMI plans a second competition in 2011.

4-1-08 ANNOUNCEMENT:
Pre/Postdoctoral students
Autism Speaks, Inc----- Fellowships & Environmental Sciences RFA
The new RFAs focus on 1) training students in autism research through Autism Speaks fellowship grants (Predoctoral and Postdoctoral awards) and 2) a specific request for applications for projects investigating the influence of environmental factors in autism. Application deadlines vary based on the type of award. Please refer to the RFAs for important information and details.
