NIH Announces Changes to Grant Application effective January 25, 2010
|
The NIH has announced significant changes to its grant application form. All new/resubmission applications with due dates on/after January 25, 2010 are required to use the new form. Among other changes, the new form sets shortened page limits and adds new research strategy, significance, innovation and approach sections. In addition, the bio sketch requirements now includes a personal statement section asking that proposed personnel, "Briefly describe why your experience and qualifications make you particularly well-suited for your role (e.g., PD/PI, mentor, participating faculty) in the project that is the subject of the application."

Biological Research In Canisters for Arabidopsis thaliana". This NASA Research Announcement (NRA) solicits research proposals for space flight experiments in Space Life Sciences for participation in a single flight opportunity using Arabidopsis thaliana. Proposals must include appropriate previous ground research data/results that show why a flight experiment is justified. Proposals submitted to this NRA are restricted to space flight experiments that propose to use Arabidopsis thaliana within the Biological Research In Canisters- Light Emitting Diode (BRIC-LED) hardware. Proposals for purely ground-based research will not be accepted or considered for this NRA. Flight proposals should be supported by a foundation of ground-based data or previous flight data. The full text of the solicitation is available on the NASA Research Opportunities homepage at http://nspires.nasaprs.com under menu listing "Open Solicitations." Potential applicants are urged to access this site well in advance of the proposal due date to familiarize themselves with its structure and to register in the system.
