ROSES-08 Amendment 30: New proposal opportunity for Fermi Guest Investigator – Cycle 2
|
This amendment replaces the placeholder text in Appendix D.8 entitled “Fermi Guest Investigator – Cycle 2” (previously entitled GLAST Guest Investigator – Cycle 2) with the final text. The Fermi Guest Investigator (GI) program solicits proposals for basic research relevant to the Fermi mission. The primary goal of this mission is to perform 20 MeV to >300 GeV gamma-ray measurements over the entire celestial sphere, with sensitivity a factor of 30 or more greater than that obtained by earlier space missions. A secondary goal includes the study of transient gamma-ray sources with energies extending from 10 keV up to 300 GeV.
Notices of Intent to propose (NOIs) are due January 23, 2009, and proposals are due March 6, 2009. On or about November 14, 2008, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2008" (NNH08ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ (select “Solicitations” then “Open Solicitations” then “NNH08ZDA001N”).

SALMON AO Amendment 2: Delay of Due Date for Small Complete Missions in Astrobiology and Fundamental Space Biology
|
The proposal due date for Small Complete Missions of Opportunity in Astrobiology and Fundamental Space Biology proposals is delayed until early in 2009. The full proposal information package (PIP) for Small Complete Missions of Opportunity in Astrobiology and Fundamental Space Biology was not made available in sufficient time to allow proposers to develop proposals before the original proposal due date. The MicroNano Spacecraft and Payloads Office at NASA Ames Research Center will develop a more comprehensive PIP and the revised package will be completed by early 2009. At the time the revised PIP is posted to the SALMON Acquisition Homepage at http://salmon.larc.nasa.gov/, a new proposal due date will be announced. Proposals will be due no earlier than 8 weeks following release of the revised PIP.

Lake Erie Protection Fund Opportunities
|
A special targeted grant cycle is available to fund two projects that address this year’s priorities for the Lake Erie Protection Fund as established by the Ohio Lake Erie Commission. One project will be funded for each of the two priorities that were established for state fiscal year 2009. A separate application package has been developed for each priority and is available on the Commission’s website.
The LEPF focuses on projects which lead to better management decisions, both for environmental protection and economic development, while implementing Strategic Objectives laid out in the Lake Erie Protection and Restoration Plan 2008 (LEPR 2008).
The two priorities for this year are: Algal Biomass and Dissolved Reactive Phosphorus and Analysis of Soil Testing Labs. Application packets for both priorities are available at http://lakeerie.ohio.gov.
Proposals are due February 5, 2009.
