OLAW Posts New FAQs
|
The Office for Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) has posted new frequently asked questions on its Web site to address a variety of issues. Topics covered include whether institutions have to release information about their animal research programs under the Freedom of Information Act and a discussion of requirements for reporting minority views.

SACHRP Meeting Agenda Announced
|
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Secretary's Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP) will hold its next meeting on Thursday and Friday, March 27th and 28th. The Subcommittee on the Inclusion of Individuals with Impaired Decision-Making in Research will report on recommendations for consideration by SACHRP about whether guidance and/ or additional regulations are needed for research involving individuals with impaired decision-making capacity. The Committee will also receive and discuss reports with regard to encouraging diversity in clinical trials and conducting research in the disaster setting, as well as application of Subpart A of 45 CFR part 46 in the current research environment.

NIH To Begin Requiring Submission of Articles Accepted for Publication to PubMed Central
|
Effective April 7, 2008, any investigators working on grants or contracts funded by NIH must submit or have submitted for them to PubMed Central an electronic copy of the final, peer-reviewed version of articles accepted for publication. Investigators are encouraged to contact Ginger Saha, the chief librarian for the School of Medicine, with any questions.

NASA ARMD ROA 2008 Released
|
The NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2008 NRA has been posted on the NSPIRES site. While this initial release of the ROA 2008 NRA only includes topics for the Supersonics Project, it is expected to be amended throughout the year to support other ARMD projects.
