Education
The mission of the Office of Research Compliance is to ensure University compliance with
federal, state and local regulations with regard to research. The creation and implementation
of targeted education programs is key to this mission and is an essential service that we provide
to our academic community, as well as our community at large.
Training in research ethics should not be limited to those new to research.
Therefore, our programs have been developed to address the needs of those just entering
the world of research, like graduate students, to our most seasoned investigators.
In addition, our education programs address a wide variety of research issues from social
science to biomedical research.
Research Seminar Series
Our affiliated offices provide educational opportunities on topics including human subject
protection and research responsibilities. Seminars are led by experienced, industry-leading
professionals at various locations on campus and at affiliated institutions in
Northeast Ohio. Many seminars listed on our Research Seminar Series
online calendar are approved
for continuing research education credits (CREC).
The intent of this seminar series is to aid researchers in understanding the grants and
contracts process, as well as the regulatory requirements. Our goal is to aid all
members of the research community in promoting ethical scientific discovery. Click here

online calendar.
Research Regulator
Research Regulator is a quarterly newsletter produced by the Office of Research Compliance designed to disseminate to our community the most current and important information regarding the protection of human subjects in research. Each issue includes a one-credit CREC quiz, which can be completed online. If an investigator reads Research Regulator and completes the quiz on a quarterly basis, he or she will earn the required credits to become automatically CREC-recertified every three years.
