Anne joined the Technology Transfer Office in October 2010 from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan where she was the Senior Director of WSU’s Technology Transfer Office. At WSU, she was responsible for the daily operations related to traditional invention management activities undertaken by the TTO staff, including resource allocation, commercialization strategy development and implementation, intellectual property protection strategy, and agreement negotiation and maintenance. Additionally, she was a member of WSU’s Export Regulations Task Force.
Prior to joining WSU in 1998, she held various positions within the Technology Management Office (now Office of Technology Transfer) at the University of Michigan, ranging from student intern to Acting Director. Anne is experienced in managing inventions from all scientific disciplines - however, she specializes in medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology inventions. She has had the pleasure of managing several key biomedical inventions, including the cystic fibrosis gene, several gene therapy technologies, anti-viral compounds, anti-cancer compounds, methods for antibiotic development, a nasal vaccine for the prevention of influenza and several immunotherapy technologies. She was a founding member of the Intellectual Property Commercialization Committee, the governing body for the Michigan Universities Commercialization Initiative, a $9.0 million State of Michigan-funded project; she was also a member of the MUCI Executive and Finance Committees.
Anne earned her degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor including an MBA in Marketing; MS in Microbiology/Immunology; and BS, Medical Technology. Ms. Di Sante is an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers, where she is a frequent speaker on a variety of technology transfer- related topics. She has served on AUTM’s Board of Trustees as Vice President, Central Region and as an Executive Committee participant, as well as editor of the AUTM Newsletter. Anne participated in the development of the BioMed Expo (now the MichBio Expo), serving on the planning committee for four years, is a volunteer judge for the Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest, and is a member of the Licensing Executives Society.
