Jim Pae

Jim spent more than five years serving Case's technology commercialization efforts and industrial sponsored research initiatives in the Technology Transfer Office. While in Tech Transfer, Jim was a dedicated resource to the Case School of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences wherein he supported his constituent faculty in their materials and advanced energy related research endeavors. Prior to joining the Technology Transfer Office, Jim was a Senior Partnership Development Manager for the National Technology Transfer
Center (NTTC) where he specialized in marketing commercialization opportunities on behalf of NASA
and the Veterans Administration. During his time at NTTC, he worked to develop collaborations in
a variety of areas including advanced materials and polymers, artificial intelligence and software,
adult stem cells, and novel biotech assay methodologies. Jim’s background also includes eight years
as a sales executive focusing on business to business sales to organizations ranging from the
Fortune 100 to small and medium sized companies. Initially, Jim worked as a project engineer for
the NASA Glenn Research Center specializing in full-scale and component jet engine testing,
instrumentation and data acquisition, and test cell operations.
Jim holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University. He served a four-year term as a
Director on the Ohio University Alumni Association Board of Directors and is a member of the
Licensing Executives Society and the Association of University Technology Managers.
